Punctal Occlusion
Punctal Occlusion is a procedure for management of dry eye and ocular surface disease by which one or more of the lacrimal puncta are occluded. Occluding the puncta increases or preserves the level of natural tears on the surface of the eye. Each of 4 puncta may be occluded temporarily with a collagen plug or gel (Lacrifill). For more permanent occlusion, a silicone plug is utilized. Any of these methods is reversible in that the plug may be irrigated through or removed.

An Eyewell doctor will review the findings with you and suggest a treatment option best suited for your eyes. The Keratoconus Screening is a limited assessment that does not include the full compliment of testing completed during a Dry Eye Evaluation or Extensive Dry Eye Evaluation.

RF/DMS
RF/DMS is a non-invasive, functional treatment using Radio Frequency (RF) combined with Dynamic Muscle Stimulation (DMS) to tone and tighten the muscles around the lower eyelids. The treatment is designed to address lower eyelid laxity, improve impaired blinking and help with symptoms of dry eye by strengthening muscles, promoting better tear distribution and improving overall eyelid function. A typical series includes 4-5 sessions spaced 2-4 weeks apart, with each session lasting about 10-15 minutes. RF/DMS is for patients experiencing lower eyelid drooping or eyelid laxity, impaired blinking or dry eye symptoms related to poor blinking. Stye Clinic
Stye Clinic is an in office visit to provide therapy for styes (hordeola) and or chalazia (painful, red bumps that form within the eyelid/s). Stye Clinic treatment sessions include an evaluation of the meibomian or oil glands within the eyelids - these are often dysfunctional and become blocked resulting in a stye or chalazion. Treatment starts with a heated mask applied to the eyelids for 10-15 minutes followed by gentle expression of the stye/chalazion to release the oils and inflammation from the blocked gland/s. There is mild discomfort during gland expression but no down time following this procedure. Additional treatment or follow up maybe advised.
