Dry eye disease is one of the most common reasons people seek medical eye care. Insurance fails to cover clinically proven treatments like LipiFlow, IPL, TearCare, or RadioFrequency not because they are not FDA approved but rather because of how they are classified. In addition, many medications are not covered, or only one medication at a time are covered. This leaves large out-of-pocket costs for patients that can hamper treatment.
By collaborating with your primary eye care provider, Eyewell helps you maximize coverage for dry eye follow-up visits. We provide itemized receipts for out-of-network insurance reimbursement, which may also count toward your deductible and be used for tax deductions.
Out of network patients may be eligible for a 15% self-pay discount on exam fees. Our exam fees are significantly lower than what you’d pay to see a dry eye specialist. Our procedure fees are reduced because we offer payment plans and discounts when multiple sessions of treatments are needed. We match or beat the average cost for treatment in the Boston metro area.
